Answer:
Coated profiled sheets can be installed together with all other metals without separating layers. Uncoated profiled sheets must be permanently separated by subsequent coatings or intermediate layers on the contact surfaces if adverse effects from contact with different metals can occur.
The following table gives an indication of the possible or not recommendable assembly of different metals in practice.
Atmosphere type | Country | City / Industry | Close to the sea
Building element | Contact to connecting element or connecting profile made of | Evaluation
1 | Zinc sheet (Zn) Steel, galvanized (Z) Steel, alloy galvanized (ZA) | Al, SS | Al, SS | Al, SS | possible |
Fe, Pb, Cu | Fe, Pb, Cu | Fe, Pb, Cu | not recommended
2 | Aluminium (Al) Aluzink (AZ) | Pb, Zn, SS | Pb, Zn, SS | Zn, SS | possible |
Fe, Cu | Fe, Cu | Fe, Pb, Cu | not recommended |
Legend:
Al = Aluminium Pb = Lead (without surface treatment)
Cu = copper Fe = steel (without surface treatment)
SS = Stainless steel AZ = 55% AlZn (Aluzinc), AZ 185
Zn = zinc Z = strip galvanized steel, Z 275
ZA = Alloy galvanized steel (Galfan), AZ 255
Examples:
component = aluminium (Al)
Connecting element = stainless steel screw (SS)
Atmosphere type = city / industry
Rating = possible
Construction element = steel, galvanized (Zn)
Connection profile = rolled lead (Pb)
Atmosphere type = Country
Rating = not recommended
