Non-combustible sandwich panels with mineral wool core and visible fastening
Self-supporting sandwich panels with a non-combustible mineral wool core (MIWO) for lightweight industrial construction in accordance with DIN EN 14509: 2013 with visible fastening.
Our FischerFIREPROOF MW sandwich panels with mineral wool core are suitable for functional building envelopes. FischerFIREPROOF MW panels with visible fastening offer an economical and sustainable construction method for horizontal and vertical façade design. The FischerFIREPROOF MW mineral fibre sandwich panels consist of a high-strength, non-combustible mineral fibre core and two outer layers of surface-coated steel. Our panels therefore meet the increased requirements for fire protection. This makes them ideal for construction projects with specific requirements. They are therefore able to provide reliable protection for buildings and people.

To further improve the airtightness of FischerTHERM and FischerFIREPROOF MW roof and wall elements, even across element and construction section boundaries, the Fischer Energy Saver can optionally be integrated at the factory. The Energy Saver consists of a soft joint insulation tape and an EPDM sealing profile with sealing lips. The Fischer Energy Saver can reduce energy consumption by up to 10%. In addition, the EPDM sealing profile reliably compensates for installation tolerances while maintaining a constant a-value.

Top priority
The Model Industrial Building Guideline (MIndBauRL) regulates fire protection for industrial buildings, including fire resistance, the fire behaviour of building materials, the size of fire compartments, the arrangement of escape routes and effective firefighting operations. Industrial buildings that comply with this guideline meet the protection objectives of the Model Building Code (MBO). This makes it easier for building owners, designers and specialist planners to plan industrial buildings, and for the authorities to assess and approve them, as exemptions or deviations from the applicable fire protection regulations do not have to be demonstrated for each individual case.
Resistance to flying fire The FischerFIREPROOF MW D roof element is additionally resistant from the outside to flying fire and radiant heat in accordance with DIN 4102, Part 7. FischerFIREPROOF MW D elements therefore meet the criteria for "hard roofing" in accordance with the premium guidelines of the Association of Property Insurers. In accordance with DIN EN 13501-5, our FischerFIREPROOF MW D elements meet class BROOF (t1).
Fire walls and adjacent façade components The Industrial Building Guideline (MIndBauRL) is a regulation governing the fire protection of buildings that are frequently constructed using sandwich elements. Some provisions of this guideline are identical to those of the Model Building Code (MBO) and the State Building Codes (LBO). The main objective of this guideline is to establish minimum fire protection requirements for industrial buildings.
Section 5.10.3 of the MIndBauRL stipulates that suitable measures must be taken to prevent fire from spreading to other fire compartments and firefighting compartments.
These include, for example, constructing the designated external wall section (at least 1.0 m) in non-combustible building materials in the area of the fire wall or the wall separating the firefighting compartments. Our FischerTHERM plus elements, in combination with FischerFIREPROOF MW plus, meet these requirements for sandwich construction. The element joints are identical in design and can be installed without any additional measures, such as adapters.
Distance requirement for neighbouring buildings Requirement 5.12.2 of the MIndBauRL states that "if the distance from the external wall to the property boundary is less than 5 m, the external wall must be made of non-combustible building materials."

Coatings – Lasting Protection for the Panels

The possibility of combining our FischerFIREPROOF MW and FischerTHERM in fire compartments requires an adapter and an additional sealing tape. Further details can be found on our website.

Standard elements are manufactured with a longitudinal joint without a labyrinth (Fig. 1). Upon customer request, an additional optional installation protection film (Fig. 2) can be fitted between the outer and inner shells. This serves as weather and installation protection for open structural joints during the installation period. The optional labyrinth joint (Fig. 3) for FischerFIREPROOF MW elements serves to increase the fire resistance class.


Standard elements are fitted with factory-applied sealing tapes on the A and B sides (Fig. 4). The climatic conditions inside the building when it is heated are decisive for this. In principle, care must be taken to ensure that the panels are installed vapour-tight.
The thermal properties of the wall elements can be improved even further by the optional EPDM seal (Fig. 5) fitted on the inside (B side). The EPDM Energy Saver seal enables additional energy savings of up to 10 percent.
The Lite core (FFL01) provides façade elements with significantly higher insulation performance than conventional products. A U-value from 0.141 W/(m2K) is possible.
